Rainbow Rice Krispies Treats

Updated: Feb 21

I had a lot of fun making these Rainbow Rice Krispies Treats.  This five layered dessert is a fun spin off of the classic Rice Krispies Treats recipe.  These are perfect to make for St. Patrick’s Day, unicorn themed parties or just for fun.

Step 1: Melt 1 Tbsp butter and 1 1/2 cups marshmallows over low heat.

Tip: If your treats come out hard, then turn down your heat.  It will take longer to melt but will keep them soft.

Step 2:  Add yellow food coloring.  Stir until completely melted and color is mixed in.

Step 3:  Mix in 2 1/4 cups Rice Krispies and place them in a greased 9×13 pan.  Spread them out evenly with a greased spatula or parchment paper and your hands to flatten the treats evenly across the bottom.

Step 4: Repeat steps one through three for each color.  Stack the Rice Krispies Yellow -> Orange (yellow & red food coloring) -> Red -> Purple (red & blue food coloring) -> Blue.
