Don’t Eat Pete!

Updated: Jul 30, 2021

This last week I was invited to go to my daughter’s preschool class and bring a game to play with the kids.  I immediately thought of Don’t Eat Pete.  The kids loved the game and kept asking to play it again.

For those of you who are not familiar with this game it’s easy to play.  Prepare ahead of time by purchasing candy and printing the game board. Place one piece of candy in each square of the game board. Send one person away from the room and have whoever is remaining choose which square will be “Pete”. Then have the person who left the room come back and begin eating the candy one at a time. As soon as the person tries to pick up the candy that is on the “Pete” square everyone yells, “Don’t eat Pete!” and that is the end of the turn. Refill the game board with candy and play again with the next person.  To keep this game Halloween themed I chose to use candy corn but any candy will work.

Click on the title below to download the game.  I recommend printing them on 8.5×11 heavy white cardstock paper.  For best printing results open file in Adobe Reader and in your print settings select actual size.
