4th Of July Candy Covered Oreos

I am getting so excited for 4th of July next week!  It has been a long time since my family has been able to spend this holiday with family.  One fun thing we like to do with the family is make festive treats.  These Chocolate Covered Oreos are delicious and are fun to make.

Melt the candy wafers over a saucepan.  I fill the pan with water and place three glass bowls that are stovetop safe in the pan.  Be careful to NOT get any water inside of the bowls.  If wafers and water come in contact it is no bueno.  Put the red, white and blue wafers in the three separate bowls.  Slowly melt the wafers over medium to low heat.

2.  Place a Thin Oreo in each mold.

3.  Using a clean spoon, put a spoonful of white wafers on top of the Thin Oreos inside of the molds.  Gently tap the mold against the countertop so that the white wafers evenly spreads across the Thin Oreos.

4.  Grab another clean spoon and put a spoonful of blue wafers over the white wafers in each mold.  Gently tap the mold against the countertop so that the blue wafers spreads evenly across.

5.  Spread the sprinkles over the blue wafers before it hardens.  Wait for the wafers to harden and remove the Candy Covered Oreos from the molds by flipping them over on the countertop and tapping on the mold from behind.  To speed up the process of cooling, I like to put them in the freezer.
